History & Philosophy

Quality Roofing Services Inc. was founded in 1970 by Danny R. Young with nothing more than a pickup truck, a ladder, and a few tools. Since those humble beginnings, Quality Roofing has evolved into a successful family-owned and operated business that employs up to 75 people (depending on the time of the year). We operate out of a 30,000 square foot warehouse in West Haven, Connecticut and maintain a fleet of 40 vehicles to best serve our clients and their roofing projects.

Quality Roofing considers its customers as its partners. Our goal is to maintain the highest level of safety, professionalism and integrity on all projects. Our longevity comes from a laser-like focus on Customer Satisfaction; we truly believe that our success is based on our reputation for providing a service that exceeds our customers’ expectations.

Family Operation Focused on Service

Deborah White, Danny Young, and Tyler Young

As a family-owned and operated business, Quality Roofing Services is structured so that at least one company principal is involved in each project. The Young family operates the business and not just from behind their desks. Count on Danny Young, president, Tyler Young, vice president, or Deborah White, controller, to be managing or available to assist with your roofing project details.

Leadership

The Young family management team brings a wealth of industry talent and experience to every project we become involved with. This results in a mix of strategic, practical and financial expertise which contributes to our ultimate goal: unrivaled customer satisfaction.

Danny Young

President and COO

Our founder, Danny Young, serves as president and chief operating officer of Quality Roofing Systems with oversight of the company's sales, administration, and production systems.

Danny started the business in July 1970 after serving in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. With only a few employees to start, Danny has grown Quality from a modest residential roofing business to a successful commercial roofing company involved in major projects throughout New England.

A founding member of the Connecticut Roofing Contractors Association, Danny is most proud to have his brother, sister and five children involved in the success of Quality Roofing. Danny is married and has four sons and two daughters.

Tyler Young

Vice President

Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the US Navy, Tyler began his career with Quality Roofing Services in 2004. Believing that to effectively sell and manage roofing projects, he needed to learn the business from the ground up, Tyler spent much of his initial time at QRS roofing with the crews.

Eventually, Tyler moved into sales, estimating and project management, where he continues to grow his knowledge and experience with all aspects of the commercial roofing business. When conducting business with Tyler, you can expect honesty, integrity, and a genuine desire to understand the unique needs of your building and business and how Quality Roofing can meet and exceed your needs.

Tyler is married to Seana; when not spending time with her and their young daughter, Tyler enjoys listening to music and spending time in the Great Outdoors.

Deb White

Controller

Deb began her longtime career with Quality Roofing as a secretary 41 years ago. Without any prior experience, she has worked her way up to Controller, fully in charge of the company's finances.

Deb’s responsibilities include contract and bidding opportunity reviews, compliance issues and state, local and private general contractor prequalifications. Deb is in charge of payroll, reporting and the company's Affirmative Action (AA) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) monitoring and reporting.

While working full-time at QRS, Deb (and her husband) have managed to raise three children and has three grandchildren. Outside the office, she likes to boat, swim, hike, refinish and repurpose furniture and go to Crossfit and Row Rage. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, sewing, and interior decorating. But most of all she loves spending time with her family and taking long walks with her dog.
